Moving was not something Hadyn could do very well, his leg tied up with the express intention of him not moving it. His right arm was broken, wrapped in a cast and throbbing ever so slightly as it laid beside him. Which was little matter, with being left handed. But it was his left shoulder that had suffered the branch, and while not wrapped in a cast- it was not less difficult to move it.
So he was stuck, swallowing hard as he turned to look back at Elisha with those say glossy red eyes. He didn't know if he believed the man, at least...not yet. It all made his heart hurt more, and his rational thoughts were desperately trying to cling to Elisha's words. He understood the meaning, he understood the implication...but it was as if his mind was convinced it was a lie, only to fight with itself in vain hopes of it being the truth.
Elisha loved him. They all loved him, family was who you made it, not who you were born to.
It wasn't long, though, before exhaustion took him again, his eyes fighting to stay open even as he drifted back into a fitful sleep. But, he thought as he drifted away, maybe....maybe tomorrow would finally be a better day.
