personality
Publicly, he can be aggressive in many things. He possesses a loud, vibrant personality that almost demands being the center of attention. In most cases he seems playful and arrogant, particularly in situations he is very confident in his abilities.

However, in private he can often become a different sort of person. That is not to say that he won't be argumentative with others, but these arguments can often take a much different tone. He keeps his worries mostly to himself, sharing them sparingly with a certain group of people he is particularly close to. He often has difficulty making choices based upon his own desires, prioritizing things based upon a rational set of goals instead. He will dismiss things that are appealing to him simply because they are not logical or necessitate activities that are counter intuitive to achieving a particular goal.

It is highly likely that Hadyn from PTSD and Major Depression as a result of the abuse he suffered at the hands of his parents. He has difficulty trusting individuals, and can be some what superficial with individuals. Hadyn's PTSD went largely untreated until he was in college, and as a result has worsened as he aged. His depression became apparent in his senior year of High School and was treated by doctors with moderate effectiveness. Again, it wasn't until College that Hadyn truly began to receive the mental health care that he truly needed. And while neither of these disorders have stopped him, they have and continue to complicate his life in ways he chooses to not discuss.

Among his other personality traits, however, is Perfectionism. In particular, he would be described as being a 'neurotic perfectionists', wherein his goals are often unrealistic and ultimately he is dissatisfied with his end results. His drive for perfection can result in near obsessive behavior, where his focus is entirely upon his task at hand. This largely stems from his Father's insistence upon perfection. As such when he throws himself into a role, or learning a new trade- he can often forget to be attentive to his physical and mental needs. Often times he will devote so much of his time to studying that he forgets to eat, or even to sleep before it is necessary to attend to other task. This often results in heighten levels of stress, and a gradual spiral into a depressive and aggressive state of mind.

As part of his perfectionist trait, Hadyn is highly focused and devoted in many areas of his life. There is a obsessiveness with physical training, in particular, which can edge dangerously close to causing himself harm due to an unwillingness to recognize injury at times. While injuries and limits are not entirely disregarded, he can be easily pushed into forcing himself to work through pain and discomfort until the injury forces him to stop. Due to his obsessive nature with education, Hadyn has been none to fluctuate in weight due to lack of eating and sleep in particular. He can have an unwillingness to accept that he is attempting to take on too much- so much to the fact that when he is faced with idle time he rarely knows how to conduct himself and can display signs of anxiousness- fidgeting and constantly in need of movement.

history
Hadyn was born on July 7th, 1991 to Dominick and Laureline Novak, two European Immigrants living in+ the suburbs of the New York City area. At the time of his birth his parents were rising stars in the legal firm, where his father would eventually become a leading partner. His mother eventually 'retired', though it was more that Dominick ran her out in an effort to keep her home and under his thumb. It did him little good.

For most of his childhood, Hadyn was treated with mild affection from his parents. His mother was quick to push her values on the boy- and was not often a kind task master. She expected a lot out of her sons, and was not one to show outward affection without the intent to manipulate them to her wishes. Dominick, however, did not use psychological manipulation to get his way. He often would use his hands to achieve what words did not. As such, Hadyn developed a strict discipline from a young age to avoid both the physical punishment from his father and to gain the small reward of approval from his mother.

At the age of twelve, however, Hadyn's life changed drastically when Dominick Novak beat him harshly. The event ended with a broken bone and a horrible black eye that could not really be explained away. He limped his way over to his friend Zoe's afterward, when he was supposed to be in bed and attempted to claim it had all been an accident with Judo that afternoon. Zoe nor her father seemed to believe him, but they left things alone. Four days later, Laureline Novak died in a freak car accident. Life was never the same for Hadyn after that.

Jordan, Hadyn's elder brother, tried to shield the younger Novak from as much of the abuse as he could, but it was in vain. For Hadyn, being at home became a living nightmare, and he seemed to always be in a state of hyper vigilance. When asked about Hadyn's frequent injuries, Dominick often blamed the death of Laureline, and claimed that Hadyn would act out wildly and uncontrollably. It seemed plausible, as Hadyn's attitude did not lend him many supporters as he told others to 'back off' and to 'leave him alone'. At his lowest point, Hadyn had even come close to taking his own life.

At 18, after graduating High School, Hadyn left New York for Chicago to begin studies that fall at the University of Chicago. He took up the study of Endocrinology at the University of Chicago. Away from his father, some of Hadyn's old self began to reemerge. He did community theater, finding that he enjoyed it, and that the processes helped ease his growing anxieties. And they were growing. Hadyn had trouble dealing with his own emotional state, his bouts of depression were worsening. Coupled with his need for perfectionism, Hadyn found himself in an emotionally....dangerous place. It was his adviser who first noted the issues, and with her help...Hadyn finally started to receive some mental health care.

Now in his fourth year at Northwestern Medical School, Hadyn finds himself at the top of his class despite his challenges. And he finds himself facing a daunting task to finally deciding what he wants to do with his future.

notes
physical description
Hadyn stands at around five feet, eleven inches in height, with a thin frame. He tends to average between 140 to 150 pounds, though sometimes that weight can dip dangerously below that range due to his habits. He is physically fit, and much of his weight comes from simple muscle mass. His hair has grown out to be just below shoulder length, and is a dark, curling brown that is often in a state of disarray. His eyes are dark brown. His skin is pale, though it has some of a Mediterranean olive tone to it that allows him to tan easily if he desires.

As for how he dresses, Hadyn tends to lean toward bright colors. His attitude toward clothing is largely ambivalent, and often makes choices based on the reactions he gets from others. He likes to be eccentric in his choices, but often is not picky in what he wears and can be convinced to try most anything. He is more prone to outlandish choices when faced with the opinion that he needs to dress 'respectfully'.
